Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in procurement, although a professional diploma in procurement is desirable but not mandatory. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential for this role, which focuses on optimizing purchasing strategies and supplier relationships.

Job overview
Coordinate purchasing activities with relevant departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers where required.
To obtain quotations from vendors and to ensure components are purchased and expedited for production requirements. Components are to be purchased at the correct specification and price and are delivered to the agreed delivery schedule, in time for the production start dates.
Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g. material, components). Monitors the cost schedule and scope of assigned subcontractors to negotiable highest quality and best value. Develops new supplier sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive. May recommend cost saving proposals.
Initial management and purchasing of components as presented by company MRP Escalate any issues to the senior buyer or purchasing managerAssist with the sourcing/resourcing of components needed imminently for productionRaise purchase orders from purchase requisitionsAct as first line of escalation for delivery issues from the expeditorSource correct components at the best price from the right vendors in line with company strategies and requirementsSupport with sharing market intelligence to the relevant internal departments – inclusive of lead time or supply issues, price fluctuations, product obsolescence and franchise informationEnsure system data is accurate and fit for purposeAssist with the timely resolution or invoice, delivery or quality disputesWork with the relevant internal departments to resolve delivery issuesAct as first line of support for any immediate production shortagesSupport the purchasing manager and senior buyer with supply base optimisationSupport the implementation and ongoing use of business strategies
• 3-5 Years Experience• Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply and a member of (CIPS) desirable but not essential.• Electronics manufacturing and/or CEM background desirable but not essential. • Strong MS Office skills and experience with MRP. • Excellent negotiation, customer service and consulting skills.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
