Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum plus benefits

Ricardo in Leamington Spa are seeking a buyer to support the purchasing of high value, technically complex, low volume components and raw materials. Key responsibilities
  • Purchasing of high value, technically complex, low volume components and raw materials, including monitoring of on‑time delivery
  • Reporting according to required departmental KPI measures
  • Daily expediting to achieve excellent OTIF and avoid any parts supply issues
  • Negotiating on price and terms with suppliers
  • Assisting with material forecasting based on data analysis
Key competencies, experience and behaviours
  • Meticulous attention to detail is really important
  • Persistence in resolving issues
  • Purchasing/procurement experience
  • Problem solving, analytical and listening skills
  • GCSE Maths and English, both at grade B / level 6 minimum
  • Commercial acumen
  • Clear, logical thinker with the ability to understand and solve problems
  • Understanding, simplifying and improving complex processes
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel – able to do vlookups and pivot tables
  • Good communication skills at all levels with ability to talk to suppliers with sensitivity to commercial factors
  • Happy to work within a team and on own alongside other experienced professionals
Desirable
  • Experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of buying raw materials such as steel, castings and forgings would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given
  • Automotive or aerospace experience or awareness of those industry’s processes
  • Experience of working with MRP/ERP systems for manufacturing
  • CIPS qualification
  • Advanced Excel
