SF Recruitment are working with a market leading manufacturing business in the West Bromwich area to recruit a Buyer. The organisation is seeking an experienced Buyer to take ownership of our purchasing duties, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply of raw materials. This position plays a key role in strengthening supply chain performance and driving efficiency improvements as the business continues to evolve.

What you ll be doing
  • Procuring materials in line with technical, regulatory, and quality requirements
  • Procurement of consumables & plant services in line with business needs.
  • Managing the complete procurement lifecycle from demand capture and requisitions to order placement, shipping coordination, and delivery monitoring
  • Working closely with R&D, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams to plan demand and safeguard availability for manufacturing operations
  • Leading commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and long-term value
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to support performance, innovation, and service reliability
  • Assessing supplier performance through structured reviews, focusing on delivery accuracy, quality, compliance, and cost
  • Sourcing and onboarding new supply partners to strengthen market competitiveness and reduce risk
  • Overseeing import administration to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods
  • Managing compliance documentation and declarations in line with relevant regulations
What you ll bring
  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Business, or a technically related discipline
  • Experience within the manufacturing sector would be highly desirable
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and contract management capabilities
  • Confident communicator, able to influence internally and externally
  • Skilled in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel user
