Job summary

Lloyd Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Buyer to join the purchasing team on the outskirts of Horley. The role focuses on international sourcing, managing complex supply chains and ensuring on‑time delivery of quality products across UK, Europe and the Far East.

You will build strong supplier relationships, raise and track high volumes of purchase orders, coordinate shipments and monitor performance to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Buyer or in Purchasing role.
• Experience sourcing from the Far East, especially China.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement, shipping and import processes.
• Experience managing multiple live orders and critical paths.
• Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with suppliers.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload under pressure.

Are you an experienced Buyer with a proven track record of sourcing products internationally and managing complex supply chains?

Lloyd Recruitment Services is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing organisation that is looking to recruit a highly organised Buyer to join their busy Purchasing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong international sourcing experience, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Working closely with suppliers across the UK, Europe and the Far East, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are sourced efficiently, delivered on time and meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Source products and materials from suppliers across the UK, Europe and the Far East, including China
• Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, negotiating where appropriate to achieve the best value and service
• Raise, process and manage a high volume of purchase orders accurately
• Oversee supplier order confirmations, proformas and production schedules
• Manage critical paths from order placement through to final delivery, proactively identifying and resolving any delays
• Liaise closely with internal Sales, Design and Operations teams to ensure suppliers receive accurate product specifications and artwork
• Coordinate shipments from overseas suppliers, arranging freight, monitoring customs clearance and ensuring goods arrive on schedule
• Track shipments and maintain accurate purchasing, shipping and product records
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules to ensure business objectives are achieved
• Support continuous improvement within purchasing processes and supply chain operations

About You

We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of the purchasing process.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Buyer, or Purchasing role
• Experience sourcing products from the Far East, particularly China
• Strong knowledge of international procurement, shipping and import processes
• Experience managing critical paths and coordinating multiple live orders simultaneously
• Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong negotiation and supplier management experience
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure

What’s on Offer

• Salary of 35,000 - 46,000, depending on experience

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
