Materials Buyer - High-End Residential Construction

Join a prestigious North London-based builder delivering exceptional residential projects ranging from £1M to £10M. With a reputation for craftsmanship, precision, and quality, they are expanding their commercial team and seeking a proactive Materials Buyer to play a key role in the delivery of some of the capital's most desirable homes.

The Role

As Materials Buyer, you'll be an integral part of the commercial team—working closely with Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, and Site Managers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials. Your work will directly impact project timelines and budgets, helping to maintain the company's impeccable standard of delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and procure materials in line with project requirements and budgets
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Monitor and manage material lead times to ensure site teams receive supplies on schedule
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure best value
  • Raise and manage purchase orders and track deliveries
  • Work collaboratively with site teams to understand upcoming needs and resolve supply issues swiftly
  • Maintain material schedules and assist in cost reporting
  • Identify potential cost savings without compromising quality
What You'll Need
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a materials buying role, ideally in the high-end residential sector
