Job summary

Booker is seeking experienced butchers to run our Butchery Departments with entrepreneurial flair, treating the department as their own business. You will work with customers to develop their business, understand the local market and deliver excellent service.

This role offers flexibility to run a butchery business with minimal financial risk, requiring strong knowledge of all meat proteins and a self-motivated mindset focused on success.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards in stock, food safety procedures, displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction.
• Develop a business plan with Store Manager to grow sales and profitability of the department.
• Greet customers, give advice, answer questions, accept orders and assist with a smile.
• Order and manage stock, including stocktaking.
• Manage a small team and staff rota.
• Cut meat to order and clean tools and equipment.
• Coordinate deliveries or pick-ups and control waste.

You will be responsible for

Maintaining high standards in all areas including; stock, food safety procedures including recording information, fresh meat and pre-packed meat displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction

You will work alongside the Store Manager to develop a business plan that will support the growth in sales and profitability of your department

Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and offering helpful advice with a smile

Ordering and managing stock - including stocktaking

Effectively developing and managing a small team including staff rota’s

Cutting meat to order

Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment

Coordinating deliveries or order pickups

Controlling waste
