Booker is seeking experienced Butchers to lead our Butchery Departments, working with customers to grow their business and deliver great service.

In this role you will run the department like your own business with responsibility for stock, displays, staff rotas and strict food safety standards while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high standards in stock, food safety procedures, fresh and pre-packed meat displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction.
• Develop a business plan with the Store Manager to grow sales and profitability of the department.
• Greet customers, advise and answer questions, take orders and provide helpful service with a smile.
• Order and manage stock, including stock takes.
• Develop and manage a small team, including staff rotas.
• Cut meat to order.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Coordinate deliveries or pickups.
• Control waste.

You will be responsible for

Maintaining high standards in all areas including; stock, food safety procedures including recording information, fresh meat and pre-packed meat displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction

You will work alongside the Store Manager to develop a business plan that will support the growth in sales and profitability of your department

Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and offering helpful advice with a smile

Ordering and managing stock - including stocktaking

Effectively developing and managing a small team including staff rota’s

Cutting meat to order

Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment

Coordinating deliveries or order pickups

Controlling waste
