Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods Preston site is recruiting labourers to support the butchery department with general manual labour. The role involves pushing and pulling heavy equipment in an ambient temperature environment and requires reliable transport to HU12 8TB for site access.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out general labour duties in the butchery department
• Push/pull dolavs and pump trucks
• Move meat pouches (approx. 10 kg)
• Prepare/line/rake out dolavs
• Maintain clean, safe, hygienic production area
• Wear required PPE at all times in production area
• Report equipment defects to supervisor
• Support energy and waste reduction in department

We are currently recruiting labourers to support our butchery department with general manual labour duties at our Preston site - our primary Pork facility within the Hull and East Riding region. With significant ongoing investment and expansion, this presents an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, forward-thinking site with plenty of scope to contribute and develop. This role requires pushing and pulling of heavy equipment in an ambient temperature environment.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

• To complete general labour duties within the butchery department, including pushing and pulling of dolavs and pump trucks
• Moving 10kg pouches of meat trimmings
• Preparing / lining/ raking out dolavs
• Maintain a clean and tidy area meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site
• Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the production area
• Report any equipment defects immediately to the Line Leader
• Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
• Attend required training in line with current legislation, Health and Safety guidelines and changing departmental operations
• Understand and minimise energy and waste within the department
