Job summary

A local government authority in London seeks a Business & Workforce Development Manager for a hybrid role. You will lead the development and delivery of the Workforce Development Plan and manage strategic early years initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong project and financial management experience, as well as effective stakeholder engagement skills. Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Lambeth Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

Position Overview

Business & Workforce Development Manager – SW2 1EG Hybrid.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, provide expert advice and guidance on the delivery of a Workforce Development Plan, through an annual training programme of continuous professional development across the early years and childcare sector, ensuring the EYFS qualifications for staff are achieved enabling better outcomes for children.
  • Generate an agreed annual income target through the delivery of a traded service for training the early years sector, to include all private, voluntary and independent nurseries, childminders and schools with nursery provision.
  • Provide the strategic lead for the implementation and delivery of the 2‑, 3‑ and 4‑year old funded entitlement for early education childcare in the borough.
  • Implement and manage IT management systems required for the effective delivery of early years childcare in the borough.
  • Lead on the operational development and delivery across Lambeth of key governmental early years new initiatives.
  • Lead on collaborative working with key strategic stakeholders to ensure that the government directives regarding the Early Years Pupil Premium, Disability Access Fund and SEN Inclusion funding and other government initiatives, including the 30‑hour childcare delivery, achieve the core purpose of improving the children's EYFS targets.
  • Lead and co‑ordinate the implementation of the Early Years Capital funding for the early years and childcare sector.
  • Lead, manage and give expert advice for effective business development services to the childcare sector and children's centres ensuring their sustainability to enable sufficiency of childcare in the borough.
