Job title: Graduate Trainee

Department: Business Transformation Solutions

Location: City of London, London

About Us

Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. We aim to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management. We serve a diverse client base that includes pension schemes, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, high net worth individuals, family offices, as well as end clients through partnerships with distributors, financial advisers, and online platforms.

Established in 1804, we have around 5,500 people across 36 global locations. Schroders' success can be attributed to its diversified business model, spanning different asset classes, client types and geographies.

The two-year programme offers a unique introduction to the investment management industry and the pivotal role of Business Transformation. You will receive introductory training, including taking the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), and have opportunities to network with colleagues across the business.

As part of the scheme, you will undertake structured rotations across Business Transformation Solutions (BTS). You will support strategically significant projects across Public Markets, Private Assets, Wealth Management and our wider group functions. You will work closely with business stakeholders and members of the team to shape and mobilise high-impact initiatives that support Schroders’ objectives to Simplify, Scale and Deliver.

The Team

Business Transformation Solutions sits at the heart of the business and is responsible for enterprise-wide consultancy, strategy and operating model design. This can involve anything from looking at how to improve efficiencies in existing processes to fundamentally changing our strategy or the business operates.

What we are looking for:

  • A strong interest in business strategy and transformation – keen to improve how the business works and deliver projects that make a real impact.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and work effectively with a range of colleagues.

  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, building trusted connections within teams and across the organisation.

  • Inquisitive and commercially aware, with a genuine interest in investment management, wealth management and associated industry trends .

  • Innovative and analytical with the ability to apply critical thinking – enjoy thinking ‘outside the box’ and applying a fresh perspective, particularly using AI.

  • Proactive, organised, and eager to get involved in a broad range of tasks, projects, and teams.

  • Adaptable and resilient, able to manage multiple priorities, remain composed during periods of uncertainty, and embrace new challenges.

  • A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, a high attention to detail who takes the initiative and delivers high-quality work.

  • A growth mindset – we understand you may make mistakes, and when you do, we are looking for you to learn from these.

  • Eager to learn and develop, actively embracing feedback, pursuing professional growth, and demonstrating natural curiosity.

  • A problem solver with the ability to see the bigger picture whilst also getting into the detail where required

Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:

  • You should be due to graduate in 2027, or have recently graduated, and be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, an honours degree (or equivalent). We welcome applications from all degree subjects.

  • A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

What you will do:

  • Throughout the programme, you will take an active role in a broad range of transformation projects and initiatives. By rotating across BTS you will gain exposure to and experience different areas of the business and gain hands‑on experience across a range of transformation skills.

  • Support large, complex consulting projects and, as your experience grows, take ownership of defined deliverables.

  • Support transformation assignments across Public Markets, Private Assets, Wealth Management and wider group functions, with increasing autonomy as you progress.

  • Support the management of project plans, timelines and deliverables, helping to ensure work is completed to a high standard.

  • Contribute to analysis, research and problem‑solving activities that inform insights and recommendations.

  • Help develop business cases, impact assessments, transformation roadmaps and delivery plans.

  • Support business and operating model design through research, analysis and the development of supporting materials.

  • Help senior leaders define and articulate the strategy and direction for their business.

  • Assist with the preparation and facilitation of workshops that help stakeholders define and shape strategic initiatives.

  • Use AI tools to increase the pace, depth and quality of consulting output, keeping up to date with relevant tools and capabilities and supporting continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to the development of AI-enabled consulting approaches by helping identify potential use cases, test new ways of working and assess their impact.

  • Build trusted and respectful working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.

Benefits of joining us:

  • When you join our graduate programme at Schroders, you will benefit from a wide range of professional and personal development opportunities, including:
