Job summary

KNOWLEDGE

Educated to Degree/HND or SVQ Level 4 and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Substantial relevant administrative experience which includes working in a recognised position of responsibility.

Experience of developing and implementing administrative and complex systems/processes.

Proven experience of analysing complex information.

Experience of challenging outcomes and making recommendations.

Proven experience in developing and devising tools to support administrative systems and processes.

Demonstrable computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant software, including spreadsheets and databases.

An in-depth knowledge of pupil placement procedures and a comprehensive understanding of Midlothian’s geographical layout, its schools and their relevant catchment areas.

Experience of working with the public.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £39,128.74 per annum.

Requirements

Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.

Please note that Disclosure Scotland has changed the way disclosure certificates are issued. You will be notified by email from Disclosure Scotland that your certificate is available to view.
