A leading special educational institution in Greater London is seeking a Business Support Officer for a fixed-term maternity cover. This role, starting in April 2026, involves supporting school operations across finance, HR, and administration. The ideal candidate will be experienced in HR and finance and possess a proactive, problem-solving attitude. This position offers a salary between £34,840 and £35,887 for a 35-hour week during term time.

35 hours per week | Term Time + Two Weeks | 8:00am to 4:00pm
Phoenix is a well-established Outstanding (Ofsted Nov 2024) special school for students with severe language and communication difficulties including autism. The School offers a unique service to the children of Tower Hamlets. Phoenix has two sites, Phoenix School and Phoenix Upper School, covering the age ranges 3-12 and 12-19 respectively.
We are an award-winning school and accredited through the National Autistic Society; praised for our creative approach to working with children with autism. The school has excellent facilities and resources to support teaching and learning. There is a comprehensive induction and training programme for new and existing staff.
The successful candidate will be sound in HR and Finance knowledge, proactive, pragmatic, proficient and enthusiastic. They should be pupil-centered, self-motivated and capable of investigating, problem solving and supporting the growing future of the provision. Experience in HR and Finance processing or responsibilities in a similar background is desirable.
