A leading organization is seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to join the Education Engagement Team. This role, covering maternity leave, will involve providing essential administrative support, managing communications, and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met for children's education. The ideal candidate will be flexible, have excellent organizational skills, and be proficient in office software.

Salary:£26,213 - £28,435 per annum

The Role:
This is maternity cover for the BSO role supporting the Education Engagement Team.Ideally we are looking for full-time cover but we may consider part-time applicants if they are able to commit to most of the week especially all of Tuesday mornings - please do contact Matt Pooler if this is something you wish to explore before applying.

About Us:
The Education Engagement Team provides many statutory services to all Worcestershire residents for all Worcestershire schools.
This role will be tosupport the part of the team that has the focus of (School and Post 16 Identification) Tracking, Monitoring and Quality.
This includes Absence Monitoring within schools (including identification of children who are unable to attend school due to exclusion, medical needs or other reasons, or on a part-time timetable), Participation Monitoring of the Post 16 cohort (including providing careers advice and guidance to the NEET group), identification of children missing education or elective home education, and provision ofChild Entertainment and Employment licenses.
We are seeking a Business Support Officer to assist us in meeting our statutory responsibilities, providing a range of administrative and business support.This will include managing all forms of contact eg telephone, face to face, email, and internet, as well as providing support, advice and guidance and accurately recording information. A key part of the role is to arrange and organise the CCAS (Children who Can't Attend School) panel each week.
As a Business Support Officer you will collaborate with the team, other services (both internally and externally), and schools to ensure that those children not in education or not receiving a full-time suitable education are identified, whilst proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of the service.
About You:
You will also work as part of a small, dynamic team providing frontline support, including giving some advice and guidance, to schools, parents and professionals. As well as provide casework and/or administrative support to the team with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.A large part of the role will include entering data and information regarding children and young people’s education onto the various systems and databases used by teams across WCC – this data will come from a variety of sources including online forms, spreadsheets, meetings and all forms of communication.It will need to be entered quickly and accurately to ensure the information being used is as up to date as possible.
You should be a good communicator who is self-motivated, solution focused with the ability to liaise and communicate in person/and or in writing a variety of information, including dealing with anxious/apprehensive individuals in asensitive manner.
Good attention to detail and producing work to a high standard is required as is the ability to maintainconfidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
The successful candidate should also have experience in administration, with demonstrable computing experience, especially in the use of software packages of MS Office including the use of spreadsheetsas well as management information databases.
As well as considerable experience of office systems including the production of correspondence and reports, filing, arranging, and minuting meetings, dealing with incoming enquiries, document copying & scanning, and keeping accurate records.
You should have outstanding organisational skills, be able to take ownership, accountability, and responsibility of your work and have excellent relationship building skills. Please see the person specification for further information.
