Job description
Overview

Keep our care services running smoothly, supporting a specialist team that helps residents live independently and with dignity. As a Business Support Officer, you'll provide essential administrative and organisational support to our team of Occupational Therapists and Sensory Workers. You'll make sure the vital services we deliver are efficient, accurate and responsive – helping residents across the borough receive the support they need, when they need it most.

Working Style

You'll be based in the Borough for 5 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be the organisational heartbeat of the team, providing professional administrative support to ensure everything runs seamlessly. Your day will include handling incoming queries by phone and email, following up on cases and ensuring accurate information is recorded on our case management system (Mosaic). You'll manage the team's shared inbox, calendar and meeting schedules – arranging virtual sessions and taking detailed, professional minutes for complex meetings such as Safeguarding and Legal discussions, where accuracy and confidentiality are essential.

Financial administration will also be a key part of your work. You'll process purchase orders, manage the team's Purchase Card, verify invoices and record savings achieved through care reviews. You'll also process Certificates of Visual Impairment (CVI) and keep shared digital spaces like SharePoint up to date, ensuring colleagues always have access to the latest documents and resources.

In this fast‑paced environment, you'll need to prioritise tasks, stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing demands – all while helping the team deliver high standards of service to residents. As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in our work every day, ensuring our services are delivered with care and competence. We listen to our residents, act with integrity and work together to build a borough that is greener, safer and fairer for all.

This role is a great example of what "we're all in" really means. You'll get stuck in to the operational side of service delivery – managing information, coordinating meetings and ensuring processes run smoothly. Every action you take helps the team provide care more efficiently, turning attention to detail and initiative into better outcomes for our residents.

Excellent organisation and time management are essential, as are strong IT skills across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools like SharePoint and OneDrive.
