Overview

Business Support Officers support Bristol City Council’s public service delivery. The role is part of the Business Support Service that works behind the scenes to ensure the council’s operations run smoothly across finance, estates, benefits, public health and other services.

Roles

We are hiring two Business Support Officers who share our values, bring a positive, can‑do attitude and are eager to innovate. In this role you will work in a centralised service that supports multiple departments across the council, working collaboratively to help achieve shared goals.

Responsibilities
Finance Team 3
  • registering and processing large volumes of invoices
  • promoting financial regulations, offering guidance and support to both internal and external customers
  • handling urgent payment requests
  • responding to queries received in shared inboxes
Business Support Team 2
  • managing shared inboxes
  • coordinating tenancy activities and assisting with residents' requests
  • handling sensitive cases
  • collaborating with internal teams
  • using digital systems to track and manage work
