About The Role

Job Purpose : The Business Support Manager will lead and develop the Business Governance Support function, ensuring robust oversight of asset management, facilities, tooling, IT equipment distribution, compliance administration, insurance management and general office support across all CCS sites.

The role provides a pivotal support function to the business, ensuring CCS maintains safe, compliant, well-maintained workplaces, accurate asset records and an efficient central support service enabling operational teams to perform effectively.

This position is suited to an experienced, highly organised manager with strong coordination, systems, and compliance oversight skills, ideally gained within Building Services, Facilities Management, or a multi-site operational business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management – Manage a team of Business Governance Coordinators, provide clear objectives, weekly priorities, coaching and development, and ensure consistent standards of service delivery across sites. Lead weekly reporting and dashboards for tooling, IT kit, insurance, facilities and general governance activities.
  • Asset Management – Manage the full lifecycle of all CCS assets including tools, plant and equipment. Oversee purchasing, condition checks, expiry, calibration and asset register accuracy. Ensure tooling contracts, leases and warranties are created and maintained in Protean.
  • IT Equipment – Oversee ordering, issuing, tracking and return of all employee IT equipment, mobile phones, PDAs and communications devices. Work with Procurement and IT to maintain appropriate stock levels, monitor asset expiry and refresh cycles and update asset registers. Lead the administration of all mobile devices in partnership with third‑party suppliers and IT, ensuring full traceability and timely replacement of defective or expired devices and track and approve all asset and equipment spend in accordance with the Business Governance budget.
  • Governance – Oversee the Compliance mailbox, ensure queries are managed promptly and escalated appropriately. Ensure registrations and renewals for compliance‑related portals (e.g., Gas Safe, TrustMark, MCS where relevant) are actioned timely. Create, update and manage all compliance‑related contracts, tooling records and periodic activities in Protean. Coordinate internal technical audits of operatives, maintain audit schedules and process results in Protean. Lead the Company Business Governance Induction for new starters. Act as the Company Data Protection Officer, ensure GDPR compliance and respond to data‑related requests. Support the Head of People & Governance with delivery of the Employee Newsletter and wider internal communications, bulletins and toolbox talks. Oversee all company insurance policies, manage insurance claims from initial notification to resolution, maintain accurate logs of claims, costs, timeframes and lessons learned.
  • Facilities Management – Ensure all CCS offices and buildings are safe, secure, well‑maintained and cost‑effective. Oversee the security, access control, fire safety, planned maintenance and statutory compliance for all sites. Manage repairs, refurbishments, office moves and facility upgrade projects. Work with external contractors, landlords and service providers to ensure contractual obligations are met. Manage all building‑related costs, invoices, leases, utilities, inspections and reporting.
  • General Business Support – Lead general office support operations including stock ordering, office supplies, IT kit distribution (non‑technical) and day‑to‑day business support tasks. Ensure induction processes (facilities, compliance, equipment, building access) are delivered consistently across sites. Maintain company asset lists, access registers, keys/fobs and allocation records. Deliver weekly reporting packs including asset status, compliance activities, facilities issues, insurance data and workload dashboards.
  • Systems & Process Management – Improve processes, documentation and controls to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste and drive consistency across sites. Support the development of Business Governance processes, forms and policy updates.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a compliance, facilities, operations, business support or governance‑focused role, ideally in construction, facilities management or a multi‑site organisation.
  • Strong experience managing people and coordinating multiple business support functions.
  • Asset management, tooling or IT equipment administration experience desirable.
  • Experience managing building compliance and insurance processes.
  • Understanding of data protection, GDPR and risk management.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Practical problem‑solver with strong follow‑through and accountability.
