Job description

A government body is seeking an experienced Business Support Assistant / Administrator to provide professional administrative service across the service area.

Based in the Newport area, South Wales. This is a contract role for initially 12 weeks (30 hours per week) from approximately 29th September and paying £17.21 per hour, less deductions for insurance, taxes and umbrella company charges (PAYE £13.69 per hour). The closing date is Friday 26th September.

Duties will include:

  • effective administrative and business support
  • maintain good working relationships with colleagues
  • liaise with other departments
  • process invoices and raise purchase requisitions
  • update computer systems and provide analysis of data
  • support processes relating to petty cash, service user mileage claims and handling and banking of monies

To be suitable for this role you must have experience working in a Business Support Assistant, Team Administrator, Secretary, Personal Assistant or similar administration role. It is essential to have excellent communication skills and strong IT abilities, including information databases and MS Office. The ideal candidate will also have an NVQ Level in Administration, Business, or IT.
