Business Support Assistant – Peterborough

We are hiring for a part‑time Business Support Assistant at Copse Court, opposite Thorpe Wood Police Station, in Peterborough. The role supports operational policing by delivering professional, high‑quality administrative support for a variety of procedures and processes, and provides timely and accurate information.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a broad range of administrative support to allow local policing to operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Source and purchase goods and services using e‑procurement processes, ensuring spend is committed in compliance with financial instructions.
  • Manage officer personal issue equipment (radios, PAVA, lockers) and vehicle equipment records, ensuring officers can deploy efficiently.
  • Health and safety administration – provision of first aid equipment, PPE, testing kits, and compliance with BCH health and safety policies.
  • Assist with facility upgrades as required, in line with the SLA with Estates to ensure effective use of the estate.
Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent (minimum grade C) in English Language and Maths.
  • Administration experience in an office environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and M365.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work independently, with attention to detail and under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and proactive initiative.
