Job summary

A local government authority in the UK is looking for a Business Support Assistant to join their Reablement Business Support Team. The role involves vital administrative tasks to support the multi-disciplinary team in enhancing the quality of life for service users across Hampshire. The Role:

Join our friendly team as a Business Support Assistant within our Reablement Business Support Team, where we support people across Hampshire who need additional care. The Business Support Team support the multi-disciplinary team across all four reablement hubs – North, West, Central and South Hampshire – to ensure an effective service delivery.

As an integral part of our small supportive team, you’ll carry out vital administrative tasks and interact with customers, ensuring the smooth running of our service. Your work will be confidential, demanding and at times emotionally challenging, but always rewarding, which will suit your empathetic and flexible approach. You’ll be part of a service who are committed to promoting people’s independence and enhancing their quality of life, supporting them to remain living in their own homes, reducing, avoiding, or delaying the need for ongoing care.

What you’ll do:
  • Be the Friendly Face: Handle calls, monitor and respond to emails, acting as the first point of contact for service users and staff.
  • Foster Connections: Build and nurture positive working relationships within our team and with our service users.
  • Solve Problems: Address and resolve high volume queries, ensuring customer satisfaction by escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Ensure Accuracy: Working with spreadsheets, templates and scheduling systems to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Promote Continuous Development: Schedule training for the Community Response Team and participate in Continuous Improvement Group meetings.
What we’re looking for:
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Good IT skills with MO365 experience (including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and SharePoint).
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions. You’ll treat all service users with dignity and respect and have a strong focus on customer service.

Working Patterns
You’ll work 5 days per week. Our Service operates 7 days a week, therefore you'll be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis for which enhancements are paid.
