Job description

Business Support Analyst – Investment Systems - Contract

On-site: London (flexibility after initial period)

About the Role

We are partnering with a leading global investment and asset management organisation to recruit a Business Support Analyst for their London office. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and technology, supporting front-to-back investment operations across trading, portfolio management, and accounting platforms used by global investment teams.

As the primary London-based support contact for core investment systems, you will ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of platforms such as Order Management Systems (OMS), Portfolio Management Systems (P), and accounting tools. You will collaborate with colleagues across Europe and Asia, providing expert functional and technical support to portfolio managers, investment professionals, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver end-to-end business and technical support for investment platforms, managing incidents and service requests through to resolution.
  • Act as the first point of contact for user support: logging, triaging, and dispatching tickets, managing access requests, and performing initial troubleshooting.
  • Provide second-line support by resolving complex production issues and coordinating with development teams for enhancements or escalations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing workflows, identifying optimisation opportunities, and contributing to process and system enhancements.
  • Conduct user training and coaching to promote efficient platform usage and best practices.
  • Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand evolving requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support processes, procedures, and configurations.
Your Background
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, ideally with a financial focus.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within investment management, portfolio analysis, or the banking sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, including Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equities, and FX.
  • Proven background in application support for investment or trading systems, experience with SimCorp, Charles River, or PAMFolio highly advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles.
  • Technical proficiency in Windows, UNIX, SQL, and Oracle, with the ability to write and analyse database queries.
  • Analytical, structured, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with confidence interacting at all levels.
  • A collaborative team player, comfortable working across multiple regions and time zones.
