Role: Business Support Administrator (BS6 Grade)
Location: Wigton, Cumbria (100% Office-Based)
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Contract Length: Fixed-term until March 2026, with a strong potential for extension.
Hours: 37 hours per week (Full-time)
Schedule: Monday to Friday
This is a key administrative post responsible for keeping the corporate engine running. Reporting into the Business Support Team, you will handle the day-to-day administrative and financial requirements for managers across Economy & Infrastructure and Customer/Community Services.
Your core duties will include:
Providing proactive, efficient, and flexible administrative support to ensure deadlines are met and confidentiality is maintained.
Managing administrative tasks related to statutory timescales and directorate requirements.
Assisting with basic financial processes, such as logging invoices, processing purchase orders, and managing petty cash.
Coordinating, scheduling, and setting up important meetings and events.
Maintaining and updating complex electronic filing systems and databases with a high degree of accuracy.
Drafting, proofreading, and circulating professional documents and reports.
Acting as a reliable point of contact for internal staff and external stakeholders via phone and email.

You Must Have:
Proven, recent experience in a similar office-based administrative or business support role.
Strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills.
The ability to work effectively without close supervision and manage competing demands.
