As a Strategy Analyst you will be working closely with the Senior Strategy Manager and the wider B2B leadership team. This role will provide the analysis, insight, and structured thinking that underpins our major strategic initiatives and will take end to end ownership of smaller strategy items.

This role is central to understanding what is happening in the market, assessing the impact on Ecotricity’s B2B business, and generating clear insight that informs strategic choices.

Core Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality analysis for the Senior Strategy Manager across major strategic programmes such as market assessments, regulatory reviews, growth planning, and proposition development.
  • Own smaller strategic work packages, for example discrete market scans, targeted competitor deep dives, and analysis of emerging customer needs.
  • Build robust models and datasets that allow the team to track the performance of strategic initiatives and assess commercial impact.
  • Prepare clear and concise briefing materials, insights packs, and recommendations for the Senior Strategy Manager and B2B leadership.
  • Work with commercial, sales, service, and regulatory teams to gather data and insight, challenging assumptions where needed.
  • Monitor external developments across the energy market and synthesise complex information into practical implications for the business.
  • Support the iteration and refinement of Ecotricity’s B2B strategy, contributing evidence that shapes direction and helps test strategic choices.
  • Contribute to cross functional workstreams, providing structured problem solving and analysis to accelerate delivery and improve decision quality.
This role does require an office presence 2/3 days a week based at our Head office in Stroud, Gloucestershire
Essential skills
  • Analytical background with experience in strategy, consulting, commercial analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to draw insight from complex datasets.
  • Confident synthesising information and presenting it in a simple, structured way.
  • Experience in energy or utilities is helpful but not essential.
  • Comfortable working across teams and managing multiple priorities at pace
  • Curious, commercially minded, and motivated to understand how the B2B energy market works.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions with evidence and structured thinking.
  • Pragmatic problem solver who can balance detail with clarity.
  • Self-starter who can work independently on smaller initiatives while supporting larger programmes with discipline and reliability.
  • Calm under pressure, adaptable, and able to work in an environment that is evolving quickly.

If you like the sound of the role but don’t meet all the requirements, we encourage you to apply. We are interested in meeting people from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. Come and join our Change and Transformation team and be a significant part of driving Ecotricity’s green future.

  • Holiday of 25 days (plus bank holidays) & ability to buy/sell days
  • Cycle to work scheme, car pooling and onsite parking available

As a valued member of the team, you will be supporting the Group Environmental Policy and its associated sustainability objectives and targets.

Flexibility statement

The fast moving nature of the company's business means that from time to time you may be asked to perform duties or tasks outside of your original job description on an ad hoc basis. This allows the company to use its people in the best possible way at all times and helps the employees to make their contribution in a changing environment.

Ecotricity is Britain's greenest energy company. When we started back in 1995, we were the first company in the world to provide a new kind of electricity - the green kind.

Our mission was, and remains, to change the way energy is made and used in Britain - by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.

We don't just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers' bills to make it ourselves too - we build windmills, sun parks and green gasmills in Britain. We call this turning 'bills into mills'. Some of our biggest achievements to date include building Britain's first megawatt windmill and the country's first grid-scale sun park, as well as building our first green gasmill, generating 100% green gas from a source that we will never run out of grass.

We don't just focus on energy though- we built the Electric Highway, Britain's leading network of electric vehicle charging points; we helped Forest Green Rovers become the greenest football club in the world; and we launched Britain's greenest mobile phone service, Ecotalk, where they use the money from their customers' bills to protect and regenerate Britain's lost rainforests.

Ecotricity is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to providing equality for all.
