Job description

Description

Are you passionate about working alongside senior leaders driving impactful projects in a dynamic environment? AXA UK is looking for a talented and motivated Office Lead to join our team and support the UK Chief Information Officer (CIO) in delivering excellence across our Technology, Data, Security, Risk, and Operational functions.

This role offers a unique career development opportunity, providing close exposure to strategic decision making and the chance to influence the future of our technology landscape. You'll work directly with senior leaders, gaining insight into governance forums, industry best practices, and our relationships with regulators and the AXA Group. You'll be at the heart of our operations, helping to shape initiatives that impact AXA UK's growth and innovation.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support key strategic projects on behalf of the CIO, collaborating across UK and Ireland teams to deliver solutions.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and messages to ensure clear, impactful communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track and manage department actions to ensure commitments are met on time.
  • Support local initiatives and leveraging wider UK&I programs.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and produce reports for the COO Executive Committee to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead operational projects, initiatives, and team development efforts to enhance resources and capabilities.
  • Coordinate cross-team activities, strategic planning, and reporting to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, and skills development to ensure our team is equipped for future success.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we're able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you're interested in joining us at AXA, please don't hesitate to apply.

We know that some candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don't meet every requirement. If you're excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you're not sure you tick every box, we'd still encourage you to apply.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience working within a CIO office.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand complex issues.
  • Excellent relationship management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • High-impact presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, with a delivery-focused mindset.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and using judgment to navigate complex situations.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality work.
What we offer:
  • Competitive annual salary
  • Annual company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • Private health cover
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
  • AXA employee discounts
