We're looking for a Business Resilience Officer to join our Group Compliance team in Manchester. In this role, you'll help us stay prepared for risks and respond effectively when things don't go to plan. From supporting the development of our Minimum Viable Company (MVC) model to helping manage incidents when they occur, you'll make sure we can keep serving our members and communities, whatever happens.

Why this role matters

Our members rely on us every day, so we need to make sure we can keep going when challenges come our way. This is where you come in. You'll help us build resilience across Co‑op, so we can recover quickly and continue to make a difference in local communities.

What you'll do
  • Support the rollout of our MVC model
  • Support the preparation and provision of MVC training and coaching
  • Work with colleagues across Co‑op to raise awareness of business resilience and business continuity management, and why it matters
  • Encourage a risk‑first mindset and help embed key controls across the wider business
  • Prepare reports and track KPIs to keep us on top of progress
  • Help senior leaders lead our recovery and respond to incidents when they happen
  • Share updates on our Business Resilience programme with senior leaders, covering governance, readiness, and risk
What you'll bring
  • Experience in business continuity and resilience
  • Knowledge of business continuity management and/or crisis management
  • The ability to spot risks, patterns, and opportunities others might miss
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence using Microsoft Office
  • Good relationship‑building and collaboration skills
Why Co‑op?
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co‑op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
A place you'll belong

We're building diverse and inclusive teams that reflect the communities we serve.

We welcome applications from everyone and are committed to creating a workplace where colleagues can feel like they belong, supported by our inclusive policies and the ways we work.

We're proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme and offer interviews to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for a job. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we'll support you.
