If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business QA Junior Associate.

The Business QA Junior Associate will be embedded within cross functional teams from the Business QA discipline, working alongside the Business QA Associate. In this role you will contribute within the Pod/team to exploring the software from both a technical and customer perspective in order to ensure maximum quality is achieved, with guidance from the Business QA Lead. As a Business QA Junior Associate, you will be expected to gain an understanding of the product under test and use this understanding alongside your testing experience to question and identify defects and improvements to the product features delivered.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Validate customer behaviour and highlight any gaps / missed requirements.
  • Raise clear concise defects and subsequent detrimental impacts
  • Carry out effective tests to cover requirements and customer behaviour to ensure defects are caught and do not make it through to live e.g. writing test cases from matrix provided or detailing exploratory cases based on a story
  • Provide accurate testing updates to required stakeholders detailing progress
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams to ensure speed to market following agile practises

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Good knowledge of the testing process, digital / staff channels and customer expectations
  • Working experience and knowledge of UKCS technology and systems, including browsers, operating systems and devices
  • A strong team player – highly collaborative recognising their specialised role in the department and acknowledging other areas/individuals’ roles and responsibilities.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex issues
  • Good decision-making skills to be able to evaluate importance of defects found during testing, based on impact.

This is a full time, hybrid role based in Leeds.
