Job description

Job no: 568779
Work type: Full time
Site: Redditch
Categories: IT
Location: West Midlands, Worcestershire
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance
Business Area: Halfords Support Centre

About us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for cocreators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

Technology at Halfords is at a turning point. We’re modernising our foundations, sharpening our delivery, and ensuring every technology decision is connected to real commercial and customer outcomes.

We're looking for people who act as trusted advisors to the business, take end-to-end accountability for outcomes, and can balance pace with long-term architectural integrity. Innovation here means practical, scalable solutions, not ideas that stay on whiteboards.

About the role

As a Business Process Consultant, you'll play a key role in helping Halfords deliver its strategic objectives by ensuring our processes, ways of working, and operating models are designed for the future. Acting as a trusted partner to the business, you'll help identify where we are today, where we need to be, and define the most effective route to get there. You'll be expected to challenge assumptions, shape thinking, and help the business solve the right problems rather than simply document requirements.

Working across a variety of transformation initiatives, you'll facilitate workshops, engage senior stakeholders, map current and future state processes, and identify opportunities to simplify, optimise, and improve how we operate. Whether the solution involves process redesign, technology change, policy updates, or behavioural change, you'll focus on delivering measurable benefits for both customers and colleagues. You'll be comfortable moving between strategic discussions and detailed analysis, ensuring recommendations are grounded in evidence and aligned to business objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing decisions and seeing their ideas translate into meaningful business change. You'll have exposure to senior and executive stakeholders across the organisation, helping shape the future direction of the business and ensuring strategic initiatives deliver tangible outcomes. If you're passionate about continuous improvement, customer experience, and making complex things simpler, this role offers genuine variety, visibility, and impact.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead current state and future state process mapping activities, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer outcomes
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to define business challenges, gather requirements, and shape solutions aligned to strategic objectives
  • Analyse business processes, operating models, and ways of working to identify inefficiencies, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Translate business objectives into clear, structured requirements, process models, workflow diagrams, and impact assessments
  • Challenge assumptions, scope, and proposed solutions constructively, ensuring initiatives are focused on delivering meaningful business outcomes

  • We offer hybrid working with a blend of working in our Support Centre and from home.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
