Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Business Performance Specialist in Sheffield with hybrid working. You will gather requirements, cleanse large data sets, and build analytic tools, reports, and KPIs to improve service levels across multiple business areas.

You will analyze data from GPS, Finance, HR, and QHSE, develop presentations for senior management, and contribute to high-profile multi-million pound projects. Strong communication and data visualization skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Excel skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience with PowerBI and data visualization tools, plus good data cleansing abilities.
• Good problem solving and communication skills; experience with complex data sets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from stakeholders and identify opportunities for analytics.
• Collect and cleanse large datasets from various sources for accuracy.
• Create reports and KPIs to improve service levels across stakeholder processes.
• Analyze data across business areas (GPS, Finance, HR, QHSE) using MIS.
• Develop, generate and present reports to senior management and external clients.
• Propose and deliver process improvements based on data insights.

Salary: Up to £36,000 dependant on experience plus bonus and Veolia benefits.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Sheffield (Lumley Street) with hybrid working

What you’ll be doing:

• Gather requirements from stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities for analysis.
• Collect and cleanse large datasets from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• You will produce analytical tools, reports and Key Performance Indicators that constantly improve the standards and service levels of our stakeholders processes. You will work on high profile projects on multi-million pound contracts that will give you exposure to senior management.
• You will have the opportunity to analyse data from every aspect of the business; GPS, Finance, HR, QHSE and all data that can be extracted from the management information systems.
• Develop, generate and present reports to senior management, operations, technical and support teams and external clients.
• Innovating thinking is promoted and you will be given opportunities to present your ideas to the Digital Transformation Manager which, if approved, would allow you to continue to work on your own project.
• Understand the management systems and be able to recommend changes in order to continuously improve the systems for the benefit of the operational employees and analytics.

What we’re looking for:

Essential

• Be able to communicate technical solutions to non-technical people.
• Previous business analyst experience would be an advantage
• Must have a high level working knowledge of SQL & Excel
• Knowledge of PowerBI and GIS an advantage.
• High problem solving ability.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Report writing experience (PowerBI, Report Builder, Excel or other relevant software)
• Ability to analyse complex datasets.
• Proactive and forward thinking.
