Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is seeking a Business Lecturer for a further education provider in the East Midlands. You will deliver high-quality teaching and assessment to learners pursuing business qualifications and help them develop professional standards required by employers.

You will plan and prepare learning activities, track learner progress and ensure your teaching remains current with industry developments.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in business.
• Level 3 qualification or higher in business.
• Occupational competence and relevant industry experience.
• Genuine interest in teaching.
• Desirable: teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Previous FE teaching or assessing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Planning, delivering and assessing engaging business courses.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Supporting, motivating and tracking the progress of learners.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
• Supporting learners to develop their employability skills and progress onto their next step.
• Taking part in tutorials, assessments and learner reviews.
• Keeping subject knowledge current and embedding it into teaching.

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as a Business Lecturer, delivering high-quality teaching and assessment to learners working towards their business qualifications. You'll draw on your own knowledge of the sector to help them build the skills, confidence and professional standards employers expect.

You'll plan and prepare your own learning activities, track learner progress and keep your teaching current and relevant to industry.
