The Business Intelligence Specialist (BIS) is a key member of the Women's & Children's Clinical Management Group (CMG) at the University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL).
The role focuses on producing, developing, and promoting a wide range of statistical information to support improved productivity, efficiency, and performance management.
The postholder will deliver in-depth analysis of complex and multi‑stranded data, providing specialist information, reports, and recommendations to inform decision‑making and enable the Trust to operate in a commercially viable and performance‑driven way.
The BIS will play a central role in presenting robust datasets, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and offering insights that inform strategic and operational planning.
The BIS is responsible for providing accurate analysis of efficiency and productivity data across the CMG, developing proactive systems to monitor and improve performance, and building credibility through robust and transparent analysis.
The role involves designing and implementing systems to ensure continuous review and improvement, developing reporting mechanisms, and communicating complex information effectively to both clinical and non‑clinical teams.
The postholder will lead on strategic analysis to enhance productivity, advise project teams on data collection and usage, and contribute to cost improvement programmes by identifying efficiency opportunities.
They will also support capacity planning, market assessments, and forecasting activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for presenting sensitive or complex data persuasively and for fostering collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders.
