Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst
Purpose of this role
To work directly with business to optimise manually produced reports, including understanding the data sources, identifying data readiness, and the transformation and outputs required. Proposing both interim and utopia solutions giving unified user experience and enabling data driven decisions, for business efficiency, productivity and performance across the Group.
Your Key Responsibilities Are
- Work cross functionally and with stakeholders to review current reporting, analyse root cause defects, data deficiencies and propose improvement to enable efficiencies, improved productivity and appropriate cost savings.
 
- Cleansing, mapping and structuring data to enable effective analysis to make informed decisions and or proposals.
 
- Designing data visualisations for effective communicative insight.
 
- Document “as-is reporting” to enable identification and opportunities for reporting optimization.
 
- Design “to-be reports” workflows, process strategies, and provide documented data flows to enable implementation of opportunities identified.
 
- Act as a change agent to install lean methodology by ensuring simplification and streamlining for the end user and ensuring consistency.
 
- Lead and work with stakeholders on solution implementation to ensure new reports are successfully embedded.
 
- Report on project updates in a timely manner to ensure all stakeholders are appropriately communicated with and informed on the status of project projects.

Experience/Knowledge
- Previous work experience as a Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst or in a role with strong analytical and client focused problem-solving experience.
 
- Experience in using large volumes of data using Excel and other tools to provide meaningful analysis and reports, ensuring timelines are adhered.
 
- Proficient in Excel including but not limited to pivot tables, lookups, charts and Excel functions.
 
- Knowledge and confidence in the capabilities of Microsoft Power BI and other reporting tools.
 
- Experience in working closely with Developers to transform reporting specifications to automated reports.
 
Abilities / Skills
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, analysis processes and reporting procedures.
 
- Clear and articulate communicator both in writing and verbally to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
 
- Ability to make judgements and decisions, ensuring attention to detail to enable the planning and management of complex projects.
 
- Critical thinker, managing own workload and solve problems.
 
- A positive can-do attitude to ensure high levels of customer service and to work cross functionally building relationships.
 
- Ability to train and coach others and share best practice.
 
Desirable
- Further Education qualification in business studies.
 
- Understanding Data warehouse usage and ETL.
 
- Programming languages and data modelling techniques.
