Job description

New Balance has begun a strategic evolution in our approach to business intelligence within EMEA and is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager to join our Transformation Team to facilitate this change. This role plays a critical part in shaping the organisation's business intelligence strategy and ensuring that data is leveraged effectively to achieve our business goals. You will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and functional Business Intelligence Champions to ensure our BI capabilities effectively enable data‑driven decision making across markets and functions within EMEA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence tools, and cross‑functional team leadership. You should be a results‑orientated professional who is passionate about turning data into actionable insights and have a consistent track record of leading and driving business success through data‑driven strategies. You must have experience in managing or building BI capabilities. Experience transitioning from a federated to hub‑and‑spoke BI operating model is beneficial. This role will require some travel across the UK & Europe. We offer hybrid working and a flexibility to working hours to accommodate for a healthy work life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the technology teams and functions to define BI requirements and priorities. Understand the specific needs of each function and ensuring they are aligned with regional and BI objectives.
  • Lead the transition to the new operating model, serving as chair on the Business Intelligence governing board, and championing new ways of working.
  • Manage consistency of KPIs, reports, and processes within EMEA.
  • Lead Business Intelligence Champions, cascading information regarding the rollout and roadmap.
  • Identify EMEA‑specific BI requirements, ensuring they are addressed effectively by the Global BI strategy, and driving alignment at all governance levels.
  • Train and promote BI tools and practices, creating engaging materials the wider business can use globally.
  • Align BI initiatives with the specific needs and regional nuances of EMEA effectively.
  • Maintain and build excellent cross‑functional relationships.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure regional adherence to global standards and practices to enable comparison and maintain consistency.
  • Once the global operating model matures, engage with BI Leads from other regions to share knowledge and best practices, helping to foster a collaborative culture globally, and help formulate the global template.
Qualifications
  • Educated with a degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong analytical skills with capability to analyse and identify trends, extracting actionable insights and a high‑level understanding of statistical methods and their application to data analysis would be a plus.
  • Previous experience in the footwear/apparel/sports industries, digital commerce, or retail is desired.
  • Experience in managing and building a Business Intelligence capability – transitioning an organisation from a Federated to Hub‑and‑Spoke model.
  • Extensive experience of implementing BI strategy – focusing on standardisation of analytics approaches, data methodologies, and the mentoring/development of analytics talent.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; professional and confident with an ability to work with all levels of the organisation, especially senior level leaders.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Able to think creatively and strategically – including improvements to existing concepts, and the creation of new innovative ideas.
  • Self‑motivated and able to manage deadlines successfully.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills – able to manage multiple priorities to accomplish assignments simultaneously under tight timelines.
  • Knowledge about Business Intelligence tools, including Power BI and Spotfire, staying updated or keeping current on the latest BI trends.
