Job summary

Key Appointments UK Ltd is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer and Data Engineer to turn complex data into actionable insights. The role combines BI reporting with data engineering across Power BI, SQL and modern data platforms.

Hybrid role based in Runcorn with travel across the North West and Yorkshire; you will build robust data models, pipelines, and governance while collaborating with stakeholders and driving automation and AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models
• Designing and improving ETL and ELT pipelines using SQL, Python and, where appropriate, PySpark or Spark
• Working with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, data warehouses, lakehouses and data lakes
• Translating business requirements into practical BI and data solutions
• Building robust data models and improving data quality, documentation and governance
• Helping to consolidate reporting and data sources onto a single governed platform
• Using version control and DevOps practices to support reliable development and deployment
• Exploring practical uses of AI, machine learning and automation
• Investigating and resolving complex BI, data and reporting issues

Business Intelligence Developer and Data Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Runcorn) with travel across the North West and Yorkshire

Job type: Full-time, permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of the 2M Group of Companies for a Business Intelligence Developer and Data Engineer. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong Power BI and SQL skills who can build high-quality reporting and data solutions, solve complex problems and work confidently across business intelligence and data engineering.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models

What we're looking for

It would be beneficial if you also have

• Knowledge of data modelling practices, including star and snowflake schemas and normalisation
• Experience with Python, PySpark or Spark, Azure, DevOps or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
• An understanding of business operations
• A full driving licence, as travel to Group locations will be required
