Co-op Wholesale is growing, and we’re looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. As a Business Governance and Risk Associate in our Business Management, Governance and Risk team, you’ll assist your colleagues to make sure we run things smoothly and responsibly. You’ll support how we manage risk, stay compliant, and make smart decisions. You’ll also play a part in how we show up to senior audiences; helping to create reports and presentations that our leadership team can use to tell the right story.

If you’ve studied business management or have a basic understanding of how organisations work, and you’re eager to learn more about governance, risk, and compliance, this could be a brilliant first step in your career.

Why this role matters

We’re building something big at Co-op Wholesale. With a refreshed structure and exciting plans ahead, we’re creating new opportunities to strengthen our proposition for our independent retailers, key accounts, and growing corporate client base. To do so, we need to stay on top of risks and governance. That’s where you come in.

This is your chance to help bring new ideas to life and make a real impact. Be part of it.

What you’ll do
  • Support key governance, risk, and compliance activities across Co-op Wholesale
  • Help put the right processes in place to manage risk and support decision-making
  • Assist in creating clear and engaging reports and presentations for senior leaders
  • Provide helpful advice to colleagues on governance and risk-related topics
  • Help run governance meetings and spot potential risks
What you’ll bring
  • Some knowledge of governance, compliance, or business management
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to spot patterns in data
  • Strong attention to detail and the confidence to ask questions and challenge when needed
  • Good communication, reporting, and presentation skills

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co‑op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme
