Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our Marina operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive marine and boat industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing daily harbor and service department functions, managing staff, ensuring health and safety standards, and maintaining high levels of hospitality. Previous experience in marine management, property operations is highly desirable. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment and driving the overall success of the establishment.

Duties
  • Oversee all aspects of Marina operations, including day‑to‑day property concerns, slip sales and allocations, and event planning.
  • Supervise and manage staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating team members.
  • Ensure compliance with TSSA and Ontario Public Health regulations and maintain high standards of safety.
  • Manage POS systems.
  • Lead team management efforts by motivating staff, supervising shifts, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Handle customer service issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve complaints effectively.
  • Coordinate with Service crew to ensure efficient engine service.
  • Maintain inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control costs to maximize profitability.
  • Implement policies related to property management standards, employee and equipment safety protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Oversee fuel dock services including refueling and pump outs.
  • Monitor Marina performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Experience
  • Proven supervisory experience in boat service or property management is essential.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and Microsoft Office procedures is required.
  • Prior experience in hospitality or hotel management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a positive working environment.
  • Experience with interviewing potential staff members and conducting performance evaluations is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
