Job description

This is a high-profile operational role at the heart of Rolls‑Royce Submarines' Business Development function. You will lead operational excellence across the Business Development pipeline, ensuring campaigns are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in line with strategic objectives. You'll manage tools, reporting, and processes that enable teams to track performance, make data‑driven decisions, and improve capability across Defence and Civil Nuclear markets. This role also provides exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape ways of working for a growing and high‑performing team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational processes, dashboards, and tools to track campaigns, pipeline, and financial performance.
  • Lead reporting and analytics on budgets, resource allocation, and business development objectives.
  • Champion cross‑functional collaboration and communication across Strategy, Customer, Government Relations, Technical, and Commercial teams.
  • Design and deliver training, capability development, and best‑practice guidance to strengthen the Business Development team.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.

This role sits within the Business Development department, supporting Submarines and Civil Nuclear energy opportunities. Work with us and we'll welcome you into a culture of caring and belonging where you can be yourself. We will listen first, embrace feedback, and act with integrity. We invest in your continuous learning and development and provide access to a wide breadth and depth of opportunities to grow your career and make a difference.

Being a part of Rolls‑Royce you'll know we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple, and make a difference. These principles form our behaviours. They are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.

To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Experience in operations management, preferably within Nuclear and/or Defence industries.
  • Strong technical capability in data management, reporting, and project controls using Excel and other software tools.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple campaigns and operational tasks, managing budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Resilient, proactive, and able to work effectively in a high‑pressure, high‑profile environment.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits, including bonus, employee support assistance, and employee discounts. Hybrid working allows flexibility between the office, home, or another remote location. As a minimum, attendance is expected for collaboration and other specific reasons; frequency will depend on business needs, nature of role, team requirements, and individual circumstances.
