The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving new business aligned with strategic goals, building and maintaining strong commercial relationships, and deeply understanding the company’s capabilities to ensure effective selling.

- Achieving the agreed volume and margin plan on both traded dairy powders and powder blends as defined in the account plan.
- Mapping all relevant trading opportunities, detailing customer product volumes, periods, and incumbent suppliers.
- Maintaining regular contact with the appropriate personnel within nominated development accounts across buying, marketing, sales, finance, NPD, technical, and supply‑chain functions.
- Maintaining awareness of customer policy, strategy, personnel, and operational changes and communicating accordingly to ONI / Ornua management and staff.
- Understanding and communicating each account’s trading strategy, current activities, and development impact on dairy trading opportunities.
- Managing effective coordination between ONI’s procurement, NPD planning, logistics, customer services, finance, purchasing, and the customer’s respective departments for opportunities more suited to blended powders / non‑Irish trading.
- Managing expenditure on business development, new product origination, and personal expenses within agreed budgets and policies.
- Managing price files and credit limits for all customers to agreed accuracy/levels, ensuring customer invoice queries are resolved within 28 days of receipt.
- Ensuring all activities meet organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, people management, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
- Upholding and promoting the organisation’s values and philosophy, especially regarding ethics, integrity, and corporate social responsibility.
What You Bring To The Role
- Extensive experience in a commercial sales role.
- Account experience managing ingredient retail or traded products, including launching and developments.
- Strong financial and forecasting numeracy.
- Key customer/market knowledge for appropriate accounts.
- Technical knowledge of dairy product range benefits.
- Driving licence and willingness to travel to customers as required.
- Proficiency across MS Office packages.
