We are a leading sodium‑ion battery company based in China, specialising in the research, development, and manufacturing of cathode materials, battery cells, and battery packs. Our products are widely used in two‑ and three‑wheelers, energy storage systems, and UPS applications. The company is establishing a presence in the UK and actively expanding into global markets. We employ over 250 people and hold more than 140 patents. With strong recognition from both clients and investors, we recently completed the largest funding round in China’s sodium‑ion battery sector.

To strengthen our global business development capabilities, we are seeking a Director of Business Development with deep industry expertise and an international outlook to help execute our globalisation strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a partnership ecosystem for the development, manufacturing and sales of fully integrated BESS systems.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales and partnership plans aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure market‑fit solutions.
  • Identify and engage potential customers and strategic partners, with a focus on the light electric vehicle, energy storage, and industrial sectors.
  • Manage the full business development cycle from lead and qualification to negotiation, contract signing, and long‑term relationship management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to enhance brand awareness and industry presence.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform strategic adjustments and support product development.
  • Provide regular updates to the management team on sales performance, business opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Battery‑related business development or commercial management experience.
  • Proven success in working with major clients in the two‑wheeler, energy storage, or industrial sectors to commercialise new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of battery technology, energy storage systems, and light electric power applications.
  • Ability to build strategic partnerships and lead complex, high‑value commercial deals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, results‑driven approach.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, and technology‑driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree.
