Business Development Manager (HealthTech)

£50,000 - £62,000 per annum plus £491 per month car allowance – salary dependent on experience

Why this role is important for CPI’swork

CPI is looking for aproactive Business Development Manager to support the delivery of ambitious growth targets in the HealthTech sector. The role is offered on ahybrid basis, combining home working with regular travel to CPI ’s technology centres in Sedgefield and Darlington, where you will work closely with the technical teams, as well as support functions including marketing.

Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will utilise your experience and scientific knowledge to identify and develop opportunities to work on. You will engage with awide variety of clients from UK-based SMEs to multinationals, and represent CPI at trade events where you will generate leads and establish contact with decision-makers, linking their requirements to CPI ’s capabilities, working with technical teams to develop proposals.

Key tasks in the role will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • To grow commercial income in the HealthTech target market by delivering digital and face to face customer journeys. Manage end to end customer journey from identification to customer retention.
  • To build new commercial opportunities by researching new potential customers, identify key decision makers, engage through digital & traditional channels and maintain relationships through effective use of those channels.
  • To lead the pitch for CPI ’s offering to external stakeholders, effectively translating CPI ’s technical capability and clearly articulating the value that CPI brings to the market.
  • To effectively communicate the requirements for contracted customers in collaboration with CPI ’s subject-matter experts and ensure that customers are set up for success.

Customer Relationship Management

  • To work with customers, internal experts, and technology teams to prepare compelling project proposals/briefs/quotes, negotiate and close project proposals to aPurchase Order/Commercial Contract.
  • To input relevant business development data/reports in support of various internal management activities.
  • To follow the CPI business Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) methodology and process ensuring all customers and opportunities are tracked on CRM and fully up todate.
  • To maintain and manage an account management process. Ensure client relationships are managed throughout the customer journey.
The person we are seeking

It is essential you are qualified to aminimum of Degree level (or equivalent) in aLife Science or aPhysical Science. You should alsohave:

  • Significant Business Development experience
  • Relevant Industry Experience
  • Working knowledge and broad experience of IT packages, particularly Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in business development in atechnical organisation

It would be great if you also had amaster’s degree (or equivalent) / higher education qualification and;

  • Experience in the patient monitoring and MI sectors
  • Experience of leveraging public funding mechanisms to support R & D and innovation
  • Experience of using a CRM system
  • Experience working in aHealthTech company selling new innovations or providing consultancy services into early-stage technology development

Please note that this role involves providing cover at various locations, often on short notice. Therefore, candidates must have avalid driver’s licence and access to avehicle to respond efficiently to different sites, as these are not easily accessible by public transport.
