Business Development Manager – Defence Infrastructure
Location
Hybrid role with flexible working practices. Successful candidate will regularly attend Leatherhead with travel to client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and actively pursue business opportunities within Defence Infrastructure that align with our strategic priorities and sector focus.
- Conduct market research and analyse trends to inform growth strategies.
- Initiate client engagement, understand their needs and align solutions with our capabilities.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to develop tailored proposals.
- Oversee transition of secured business opportunities to operational teams.
- Establish strong relationships with critical stakeholders, developing engagement methods and leads.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on KBR methodology and technology, effectively representing KBR externally.
- Build and maintain a robust network across clients and partners, proactively identifying growth opportunities.
- Develop business development strategy for domain area, identifying markets, stakeholders, frameworks and initiatives.
- Position KBR team ahead of tender opportunities and actively track leads.
- Convert opportunities into successful contract wins, driving overall team growth.
- Draft compelling sales materials and support marketing efforts as needed.

Qualifications & Experience
- Manager level experience in business development or related role.
- Strong expertise in identifying and pursuing defence infrastructure opportunities.
- Proven ability to conduct market research, analyse data, and inform business decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Experience representing organisation externally as a subject matter expert.
- Digital platform proficiency without IT specialist background.
- Experience in drafting sales materials, supporting marketing, and managing tender processes.
Security Requirements
SC Clearance – requires British nationality and a minimum of 5 years continuous residency in the UK.
