We are seeking a Toolmaker / Bench Hand

We are a busy manufacturing, well established facility, and following huge recent investment, this makes us a very stable place to work.

You will play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and supporting press tooling to ensure minimal downtime and safe, efficient production.

DUTIES

  • Degrease press tools removed from production for planned servicing or breakdown repairs
  • Assemble and dismantle press tools to regrind components or replace tooling parts
  • Support press setters in the press shop with tooling adjustments
  • Assist press setters in locating and selecting correct tooling components (e.g. screws, dowels, tooling parts) from the toolroom to prevent damage or component rejection
  • Manufacture tooling parts during breakdown situations to minimise production downtime
  • Assist production with changeover parts during product changes as requested by press setters
  • Notify the toolroom office when consumable stock levels are low

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of progression press tooling
  • Surface grinding knowledge
  • Strong understanding of general machining practices, including: Milling, Turning, Drilling and Tapping
