Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager for Logistics/Transport/Freight Forwarding. This field-based role covers the UK and Europe, with a home-based schedule when not visiting clients and a responsibility to build new business relationships.

You will generate opportunities, meet clients, manage key accounts, and keep CRM up to date while travelling as needed to win new business across regions.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, transport or freight forwarding.
• Proven track record of winning new business.
• Willing to travel UK & Europe.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through cold calling, networking and self-sourced leads.
• Book and attend meetings with prospective clients.

Business Development Manager - Logistics / Transport / Freight Forwarding

£40,000 Basic + BMW Company Car + Quarterly Bonus (8% of Annual Salary). Field-Based - UK & Europe. Open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.

The Role

This is a fully field‑based position focused on new business development. With no assigned territories, you'll have the freedom to target customers across the UK and Europe. You will manage your own diary, work from home when not visiting clients, and spend most of your time out in the field building relationships and securing new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Generating new business through cold calling, networking, and self-sourced leads
• Booking and attending your own meetings with prospective clients
• Identifying, pitching, and securing UK & European full and part load opportunities
• Building long-term customer relationships and managing existing accounts where needed
• Maintaining accurate CRM updates and managing your sales pipeline
• Travelling across the UK, with occasional European trips as required
• Working from home when not on client visits

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience within logistics, transport, or freight forwarding
• Strong hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business
• Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly
• Highly self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing a field-based schedule
• Full UK driving licence
