Job summary

Galliford Try, a leading UK contractor, is seeking a Business Development Manager in London to promote capabilities, develop opportunities with public and private clients, and drive growth across the South East. You will lead on pre-tender activities, manage frameworks, and expand the client base with strategic partnerships.

The role emphasizes a relentless networker who can articulate client needs and translate them into winning proposals, with a focus on growth in the London & South East

Qualifications

  • Consummate, relentless and effective networker.
  • Commercially and operationally astute with a flair for knowing when and how to work to a solution.

  • An effective communicator and sharer of customer and enquiry information to ensure optimum team work and tailored, professional responses.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Company’s capabilities to public and private clients and their advisors, developing opportunities for work in the London & South East region and liaising with counterparts regarding opportunities throughout the UK.
  • Manage the Company’s performance on selected frameworks, providing a first point of contact, managing pipeline intelligence, responding to opportunities and ensuring our teams comply with framework requirements and governance at tender, pre-construction and construction stages.
  • Take a key leadership role and work with the proposals and estimating function, adding information and business knowledge at the pre-tender stage
  • Lead in developing opportunities, in terms of strategies, targeting opportunities and client dialogue. Ensuring that the clients’ requirements are understood and addressed in coherent and professional terms.
  • Work within the business unit’s project selection strategy, considering risk profile, opportunity fit etc.
  • Develop further opportunities for negotiated work and explore partnership arrangements within a developing client base.
  • Be aware of new markets and market trends, ensuring GT is ahead of the competition.
  • Develop relationships with existing customers and expand our client base with other like-minded companies.

Our extensive experience and expertise in building projects enables us to understand our clients’ construction needs and deliver solutions that surpass their expectations.

What you will be doing:
