Job description

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients, and driving overall company growth. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand the company’s customer base and improve revenue through partnerships, sales strategies, and market expansion. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in business development, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, and partnerships.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  3. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  4. Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging trends.
  5. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players and stakeholders.
  6. Develop strategies to increase the company’s market share and revenue, ensuring business growth.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams such as product development, marketing, and customer service to deliver seamless solutions for clients.
  8. Support customers with day-to-day management of their orders, addressing queries and providing solutions.

Skills/ experiences required:

  1. Experience of working in a manufacturing / engineering environment.
  2. Experience in a technical sales or key account management role.
  3. Proven track record in B2B sales and achieving sales targets.
  4. Proven record of delivering consistent profitable sales growth within a fast-paced environment.
  5. Experience working with strategic sales process and pipeline management.
  6. Ability to develop and execute strategic customer plans.
  7. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and tasks simultaneously.
  8. Ambitious and outgoing, highly organised with strong analytical skills.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with customers.
  10. Strong IT skills (particularly MS Office and CRM systems).
  11. Able to prioritise and work calmly under pressure.
