Business Development Manager – Senior Strategic Role
  • Senior strategic role focusing on new market entry with the prospect of becoming Business Development Director.
  • Primary focus on aerospace (critical priority) with additional opportunities in gas turbines, medical, space, and oil & gas.
  • Opportunity to work with a multi‑billion group across British and global manufacturing sites.
  • Long sales cycle into aerospace; high‑level regulation and standards.
  • UK and Europe based; open to locations such as Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Oxford, Nottingham, Bristol, etc.
  • Competitive salary £75,000-£85,000 (negotiable) plus excellent quarterly bonus that can exceed six figures.
  • Car allowance and executive benefits package.
  • Option to work remotely / from any UK location.

This is more than just a selling role; you will work with the board and then deliver, implement and drive the company’s New Market Entry strategy. This is a senior and very important position; success will give you promotion to Director for a global leader within a massive multi‑billion group.

The Candidate Profile
  • Outstanding proven track record in selling, penetrating, and winning business in critical markets across Europe.
  • Ideally experience in Aerospace Tier 1 and Aerospace OEM markets.
  • Knowledge of metals and metal components within the above markets.
  • Experience or desire to move into strategic new market entry business development; strong resilience and proactive mindset.
  • Outstanding new business and key account management skills, comfortable building long‑term relationships and handling long sales cycles.
  • Energetic, dynamic, self‑starter with a personable, can‑do attitude.
  • Strategic thinker who can map sectors, generate new business, and build long‑term relationships.
  • Experience in sales management or senior business development.
  • Accurate forecasting and budgeting capabilities.
  • Pipeline management and closing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate and sell to a wide range of levels.
  • Eye for upselling/cross‑selling opportunities and navigating corporate business networks.
