Job Description

First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans (FE-EL) is a Not-for-Profit organisation that addresses economic regeneration by providing loans and business support to Small to Medium sized businesses that are unable to raise finance from traditional mainstream sources. Our government-backed loans and related services help to strengthen enterprises, create employment, and contribute to the economic revitalisation of the communities we serve. Over the past 30 years, we've provided over £46m of loans to 3,593 businesses, creating 3,238 new jobs and helped 1,556 entrepreneurs start up their own business.

As part of our ongoing growth strategy, an opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager based in our Nottingham office, with travel across the East and Southeast Midlands region.

Main Duties
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to attract new clients and expand the company's market presence.
  • Work closely with the marketing and sales team to create and execute marketing campaigns that promote our lending solutions and services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and market research.
  • Conduct meetings with potential clients to understand their financing needs and promote our lending solutions.
  • Find and nurture relationships with introducers such as loan brokers who can refer small business clients.
  • Attend networking events to connect with the local small business community.
  • Signpost customers to relevant external organisations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven business development or sales experience, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and execute accurately.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with the marketing team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Excel.
