We are seeking a commercially driven, high-performing Business Development Manager to join a rapidly growing payroll and contractor solutions provider operating at the heart of the recruitment and construction sectors.
This role is designed for an individual who thrives on winning new business, building profitable client relationships, and consistently exceeding revenue targets. You will take full ownership of new business acquisition, targeting recruitment agencies and SMEs requiring PAYE Umbrella and CIS payroll solutions. Operating in a high-demand market, you will position yourself as a trusted commercial partner delivering compliant, value-led solutions that convert into long-term revenue streams.
This is a role for a self-sufficient, performance-led sales professional who enjoys prospecting, negotiating at senior level, and closing complex deals.
Proactively identify, target, and convert new recruitment agency and SME clients
Build a strong, sustainable sales pipeline through outbound activity and strategic prospecting
Convert inbound enquiries into high-value, long-term commercial relationships
Engage with senior decision-makers to understand payroll, compliance, and contractor requirements
Deliver tailored PAYE Umbrella and CIS solutions aligned to client needs
Confidently present payroll platforms, compliance processes, and commercial propositions
Establish long-term partnerships with agency owners, directors, and operational leaders
Maintain strong market awareness, monitoring competitor activity and regulatory developments
Position yourself as a subject-matter expert within the payroll and contractor services space
This role will suit an individual with a proven hunger to win, strong commercial discipline, and a track record of delivering results.
Demonstrable success in business development or sales, ideally within payroll, recruitment, or contractor services
Strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders
A structured, resilient, and results-driven approach to sales
Excellent organisation and pipeline management skills
Knowledge of recruitment processes and contractor lifecycles (IR35 / AWR knowledge advantageous)
