Join our Growth team as a Business Development Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving Capita Public Service forward. You’ll be responsible for identifying, nurturing and securing new business opportunities that deliver year-on-year profitable growth. Collaborating across Capita Public Services (CPS) Client Groups, you’ll maximise opportunities by championing our propositions and unlocking potential across Fire and Rescue and Blue Light Services.

This is a home-based role with occasional travel to Moreton-in-Marsh for team meetings and collaboration.

What you’ll be doing
  • meeting and exceeding revenue and margin targets for CPS transactional business, contributing to year‑on‑year growth
  • informing sector planning and target setting through market scanning and customer insight
  • developing winning strategies to open and close new business within defined sectors and plans
  • identifying and prioritising new target markets and customers using research and competitor analysis
  • generating and qualifying leads through multi‑channel sales activity and impactful first contact
  • collaborating across CPS teams to ensure smooth transition of new business into account management
What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • experienced in managing a sales pipeline, forecasting accurately and tracking performance against targets
  • experienced in using data and insight to inform sales decisions and apply best practice disciplinesable to build trusted partnerships and engage confidently with customers across multiple agencies
  • commercially astute with the ability to prioritise, qualify leads and structure business service offerings
  • champions best practice in business development, including account planning, pipeline management, reporting and risk control – ideally a Salesforce super‑user

Desirable:

  • experience selling into Fire and Rescue and Blue Light Services is highly advantageous, though not essential – enthusiasm to engage with these sectors is key
