Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Clients and Markets team in Birmingham as a Business Development (BD) Executive on a 15-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. In this role, you'll provide direct support to several Senior Business Development Managers, contributing to business development initiatives across a variety of sectors including Tech, Automotive, Life Sciences, Health & Care, and Financial Institutions & Services. You'll also collaborate across a range of practice areas such as Corporate, Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Commercial.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to Senior Business Development Managers and contribute to business development initiatives across multiple sectors.
  • Collaborate across practice areas: Corporate, Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Commercial.
  • Analyse financial data, identify trends, and highlight key insights; demonstrate strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Maintain excellent organisational and project management capabilities; ensure high-quality outputs under pressure and tight deadlines; adapt flexibly as needed.
  • Demonstrate proactive, collaborative approach with initiative, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in business development; proactive and motivated; strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication with high grammatical proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in law or professional services is desirable; interest in the tech sector advantageous; experience or qualification in marketing advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work in a 15-month fixed-term maternity cover.
