Job summary

A leading asset financing firm in the UK seeks a Business Development Director to manage broker relationships and develop new business in structured asset finance. Description

Our client a leading asset financier for whom we have successfully sourced over 50 staff in the UK , Ireland and Germany are seeking an additional Business Development Director to join their highly successful broker centric mid ticket national sales team.

You will manage and develop existing relationships with lease brokers and also identify and win new ones that can introduce the type of transactions that are client seek , these being deal sizes from ideally £1m upwards to £10m.

To apply for this position you will need the following skills & experience :

  • Experience of formulating new business proposals for transactions in our clients deal size space that will often need a high degree of structuring to be acceptable , this structuring will typically involve negotiating documentation , pricing , security etc.
  • The ability to conduct in-depth credit assessment to determine viability and to then formulate detailed credit submissions
  • The ability to negotiate with the customer at C level on aspects like terms , profile , security etc to shape the transaction to become viable.
  • Experience of working with external lawyers , asset valuers etc
  • Experience of working across a wide variety internal functions including credit , operations , legal , asset management etc
  • The gravitas and presence to work confidently at senior levels both internally and externally
  • The skills to work with senior staff at lease brokers in a collaborative way to encourage them to share opportunities with you early in their sales cycle
  • The ability to not only develop existing broker relationships to maximise business but also to identify , target and win new name brokers that can introduce business art the size , credit and price point that meets our clients objectives.

We are seeking applications from those willing to share with us a deal list of structured transactions closed by you in the £1m space in the recent past ( to be clear we don’t seek to know the names of actual customers but we and our client do want understand deal size , asset class and broadly the structure of the deals you have closed and what issues you overcame and solutions you implemented to successfully conclude the deal )

Our clients ideal location is to hire someone based from Birmingham north but flexibility does exist to hire further south for someone with the required skills and experience and a willingness to travel nationally as required to fulfil the role.
