A recruitment agency specializing in business development roles is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to promote modular data centres within the defence sector. The ideal candidate will have strong sales experience, a good understanding of military operations, and excellent communication skills. This role allows living anywhere in mainland Great Britain, but requires training and monthly visits to the West Midlands. The position offers an excellent package based on experience.

Overview

Business Development Manager - Defence Sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled sales professional to concentrate on promoting prefabricated facilities / modular data centres into the defence sector. You will be tasked with client engagement to build upon an already healthy pipeline within Defence, MOD, NATO, and US DoD programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Developing a strategy to target UK, US, and European defence organisations.
  • Build relationships with defence procurement bodies, primes, integrators, security agencies etc.
  • Identify opportunities for modular / prefabricated data centres, secure enclosures, SCIFs, etc.
  • Working with internal teams to deliver winning proposals.
  • Represent the Client at networking opportunities (defence trade events, briefings, site visits) in UK & EU.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of how the military works
  • Demonstrable sales experience
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and procurement frameworks (e.g., UK NPSA, HMG SPF, US ICD-705, DoD MATOCs, GSA) would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout UK and Europe.
Salary & Location

Salary: Excellent package depending on experience including good basic, excellent commission and car allowance

Location: Can live anywhere on mainland Great Britain but training and monthly visits to their West Midlands will be expected.
